The answer to the question at the end is clear: she's after (political) power... and president of a sovereign nation is as powerful as you can get.

She won't persue Alaskan secession though, not unless McCain gets thoroughly trounced in the election.. why be president of a small (population) state such as Alaska, when you can be president of the most powerful nation in the world?

The scary thing is that she just might attain it.

As I see it, that's one of her few good points! There has never been a secession movement in history that I haven't supported, and never will be. Devolution of power, all the way to the individual, is my dream.

LOL, that's ok if you support the AIP movement, but surely you see how she is throwing stones in glass houses?

You're surprised by a hypocritical politician? I'm surprised when they're not. And I'm not even that cynical!
:-)

I guess I'm being naive, because once again with this woman I am amazed by the colossal size of her balls. If there are other examples of political hypocrisy on this level, I've been missing out.

I've been screaming about this one. It kills me that there isn't more coverage on her being anti-American. Obama gets knocked for what someone he knows did 40 years ago, but the Palins are allowed to join a political party that wants to rip apart the country?

Exactly. WTF!
