Today

Today, [personal profile] fings and I have been married for 6 months. Holy cow!

Today, I have an appointment with my gynecologist @ 2:30pm EST. Thank goodness, cause I've been a wreck the past couple of weeks. I could be wrong, but I feel utterly convinced that I have PCOS. Or if not PCOS, some other metabolic condition that renders my mentrual cycle insane. I'm terribly concerned about both baby-making and my long term general health. Fuck. I've been driving my husband crazy with my concerns and with all the research I've been doing online and with a book I got off of Amazon. I've been driving *me* crazy, too. I'm going to have to demand all sorts of tests and I'm both looking forward to them so we can get some answers, and dreading the possible emotional rollercoaster. Wish me luck!

I love my family, but I feel like I need a small vacation from them.

I'm sure you know, already, that if you have any questions about this that if I am not able to answer them myself that I will be able to point you in the right direction.

I hope you get the answers you want from your gyno.

((hugs))

Hope the GYN visit provides you with answers and peace of mind. :)

A close friend of mine has PCOS and I know how hard that is for her. I wish you answers and peace.

Happy half year anniversary! They say the first year is a rough adjustment period but you seem to be sailing through pretty well. I hope the next six months go smoothly.

[identity profile] yolen.livejournal.com 2006-12-04 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

Yeah, while the adjustment period hasn't been without it's bumps, I'd say things have been pretty darned good! [personal profile] fings is a great guy and I got very lucky.

Happy 6 Month Anniversary!

Good luck with the gyn today. If he/she isn't also an OB, you might want to look for one now, before the pregnancy, so you won't have to deal with that nonsense later.

[identity profile] yolen.livejournal.com 2006-12-04 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

Yeah, he's an OB as well.

Happy Half Year!

I know a few people OL that have PCOS. I know there's a lot of support out there and new methods to help women conceive and be healthy.

My gyno is actually the doc that delivered me!

[identity profile] yolen.livejournal.com 2006-12-04 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

Yeah, the upside to all of this (if I do indeed have PCOS) is that while there is no cure, there are treatments that should hopefully go a long way as far as having babies and being healthy.

My gyno's father (it's a family practice) delivered my younger brother and a niece & nephew!

I hope that you have a very productive and useful visit to the doctor. If you get blown off at all, I'd be happy to ask my new- and incredibly wonderful- OB/Gyn if she can recommend someone for a very.good.second.opinion. She's from this state and did her residency at UMDNJ, so chances are that she might.

Thank you very much, I'll be reporting on my trip to the gyno later on. I *might* need a recommendation as some point, I need to see how this will play out :).

Happy Anniversary! May the next 6 decades be as much fun as the first six months...

Hope it went well at the doctor's today - the blessing and curse of the Internet is how well informed you can be; sometimes it's what you need, but sometimes it can drive you crazy!

Let's see, my husband and I will be 101 and 92 respectively in 60 years. it would be nice to swing that in good health!

Oh, absoluteley! It can be to much, especially for worry-wart people like myself. I can whip myself into these emotional frenzies that just suck. Poor husband :(.
