Today
Today,
fings and I have been married for 6 months. Holy cow!
Today, I have an appointment with my gynecologist @ 2:30pm EST. Thank goodness, cause I've been a wreck the past couple of weeks. I could be wrong, but I feel utterly convinced that I have PCOS. Or if not PCOS, some other metabolic condition that renders my mentrual cycle insane. I'm terribly concerned about both baby-making and my long term general health. Fuck. I've been driving my husband crazy with my concerns and with all the research I've been doing online and with a book I got off of Amazon. I've been driving *me* crazy, too. I'm going to have to demand all sorts of tests and I'm both looking forward to them so we can get some answers, and dreading the possible emotional rollercoaster. Wish me luck!
I love my family, but I feel like I need a small vacation from them.

Happy half year anniversary! They say the first year is a rough adjustment period but you seem to be sailing through pretty well. I hope the next six months go smoothly.

Yeah, while the adjustment period hasn't been without it's bumps, I'd say things have been pretty darned good!

Good luck with the gyn today. If he/she isn't also an OB, you might want to look for one now, before the pregnancy, so you won't have to deal with that nonsense later.

Yeah, he's an OB as well.

I know a few people OL that have PCOS. I know there's a lot of support out there and new methods to help women conceive and be healthy.
My gyno is actually the doc that delivered me!

Yeah, the upside to all of this (if I do indeed have PCOS) is that while there is no cure, there are treatments that should hopefully go a long way as far as having babies and being healthy.
My gyno's father (it's a family practice) delivered my younger brother and a niece & nephew!

Hope it went well at the doctor's today - the blessing and curse of the Internet is how well informed you can be; sometimes it's what you need, but sometimes it can drive you crazy!

Let's see, my husband and I will be 101 and 92 respectively in 60 years. it would be nice to swing that in good health!

Oh, absoluteley! It can be to much, especially for worry-wart people like myself. I can whip myself into these emotional frenzies that just suck. Poor husband :(.
