Blatherings of an Extroverted Bookworm

I remember in high school we read Quicksand and Passing and had to do a paper on what we gleaned from the two novels. I think I put something like, "I learned mixed people don't fit in anywhere and die sad and alone." I was being facetious but it did seem like a reoccurring theme in the books we were reading.
