I re-watched "Firefly" this past week, and "Serenity" last night. Last week I got very verklempt when I watched the ep "Heart of Gold", in the scene where Wash and Zoe discuss whether or not they should have a baby. Ok, more than a little verklempt, I cried for about 5 minutes. And then last night, I was dreading the scene where Wash dies, and cried again. Damn you, Joss Whedon! Why do you hate LOVE!? Still, what an amazing show that got me to care so much for fictional characters in 14 episodes.

We're watching "Ocean's Thirteen", we're enjoying it.

It's sad as hell to know Bernie Mac is no longer with us. What funny, talented guy. Died way too young.

We are watching The Beatles movie "Help!". I've never seen this before. I can't help but keep thinking that this movie is like the Monkees tv show mixed with antics from the Pink Panther cartoons. Exceedingly goofy.

The Beatles are so cute, though. And the music isn't bad ;).

Just got back from seeing a private advance screening of the Sweeney Todd movie. My friend Chris and I got to sing like loud & obnoxious assholes along with the movie, we were the only ones in the theatre---it was heaven! We LOVED the movie. Vaguely, possibly but not really very spoilerish ) OK, it's way to fucking late, goodnight y'all!

I had my CDA Workshop class on Saturday and for once I didn't leave dragging my ass and grumbling curses under my breath ;). Class was dismissed a little early and that was a nice surprise. After some loafing about at home we took the bus to the Port Authority and bought tickets for "The Darjeeling Limited". Then we took a walk around Times Square for a bit and poked around Virgin Megastore (there were some plush "Nightmare Before Christmas" dolls I was DYING to buy, but I was good) and then headed over to Dallas BBQ for some dinner. Mmmmmm :); though I had rotiserrie chicken and fried shrimp (that was effing delicious). After dinner we hopped across the street for the movie. We really enjoyed it, I think I enjoyed it a bit more than [personal profile] fings, but I'm a bigger sucker than he is for Wes Anderson movies. We hadn't had a nice date night like that in a while.

Yesterday was a good day, got lots of chores done and then loafed comfortably later on in the day.

Had a date with my sweetie [personal profile] fings last night. We had dinner at Maxwell's in Hoboken (omigod, the tiger shrimp stuffed w.crabmeat & drizzled in champagne sauce was effing DELICIOUS!). Then we hopped on the bus to Times Square to see Pan's Labyrinth, the 8pm show we were vainly trying to get there in time for was sold out anyway, so we got tickets for the 9:40pm show and wandered about Times Square for a bit. I have to say, I don't think I've ever seen Times Square as tourist-free (even factoring in that it was just after 8pm, when the majority of Broadway shows begin) as last night. Obviously, the best time to go is right after the holidays, the worst time of the year to hit the area. You'd think I would have figured that out before now :P. Fifty minutes before the start of the movie we handed in our tickets and saw our friend A. standing in line, ha! It was a nice surprise, we chatted for a bit, and then Fings and I were instructed to go to the end of the line...way down on the other side of the floor, it was crazy! Fortunately once we were allowed in the actual theatre, A. had already staked out some seats for us, cool.

The movie was AMAZING. Violent, sad, beautiful, and amazing. My hat goes off to Guillermo Del Toro for creating this amazing film.

It was a good night :).
