Today was a good day.
Jun. 20th, 2008 10:54 pmWent to my little nephew J's pre-K "graduation" today. OMG, a bunch of 4 year olds singing and dancing brings on the LULZ. My parents, my SIL and her mother were there as well. My brother couldn't take time off from work, he feels bad. But we took a shitload of pictures and I took a few little videos, so that's something. Have to see about getting it all uploaded on a cd for them. Little J. was so proud of himself, and he totally dug getting to show off for his family. I love him bunches.
Had lunch with
fings in Hoboken. Ate forbidden fruit from Johnny Rockets which made me have to high tail it to the bathroom a short while later (sorry, TMI). But that shit was *good* so there.
Had a really great swim on campus. My goal is to go swimming 5 days a week, but I'll be happy to get up to 3 days a week consistently.
Started a project in the basement, I'm going to paint and clean out the utility room. But first, three of the walls need priming. Primed the 1st coat on the 1st wall. Felt good to at least get that started.
Ate delicious turkey lasagna leftovers. It's always nice to have a good dinner without having to cook that night!

Dec. 13th, 2007 04:00 pmLast week my older brother who is planning on attending Union County Community College for their nursing program and needs to take Remedial Algebra asked if we had any Algebra books on hand so he can reacquaint himself before the semester starts (husband of mine having a bachelor's and a master's in mathematics, it made sense to ask us) and we didn't. The other night my husband picked up a pile of books left out for recycling night down the street to see if there was anything worth grabbing: lo, there was an Introduction to Algebra college textbook.
Today I had an appointment with the reproductive endocrinologist and urgh, it just kind of sucked today since I'm still not 100% better from being sick this past week (more like 95%) and I slept for SHIT last night...and a bus, a train, and another bus ride when we're talking freezing rain isn't a laugh riot. On the way back I really wished I didn't have to go into work this afternoon: lo, my boss called me and said they'd be doing an early closing because of the weather, so see you on Monday.
After calling
fings to let him know I'd be going home and not to work, he told me that he checked the tracking # for the dvd shipment we were expecting (the 3 seasons of "Deadwood", yaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!) and that the UPS guys were lying fuckers again who claimed to have attempted a delivery yesterday when they goddamned well didn't cause I was HOME all day and there was no note left behind, either. I grabbed lunch and then high-tailed it back home: lo, the UPS truck was parked across the street from our building and I was able to go over to the UPS dudes and say "Gimmee", and thankfully they had our movies :). And I was able to sign for 3 packages for our neighbours downstairs, at least one package was on its 3rd attempt and would otherwise had been sent back to Secaucus where it would have started it's march back to the sender.

Good Weekend :)
Oct. 15th, 2007 10:48 amI had my CDA Workshop class on Saturday and for once I didn't leave dragging my ass and grumbling curses under my breath ;). Class was dismissed a little early and that was a nice surprise. After some loafing about at home we took the bus to the Port Authority and bought tickets for "The Darjeeling Limited". Then we took a walk around Times Square for a bit and poked around Virgin Megastore (there were some plush "Nightmare Before Christmas" dolls I was DYING to buy, but I was good) and then headed over to Dallas BBQ for some dinner. Mmmmmm :); though I had rotiserrie chicken and fried shrimp (that was effing delicious). After dinner we hopped across the street for the movie. We really enjoyed it, I think I enjoyed it a bit more than
fings, but I'm a bigger sucker than he is for Wes Anderson movies. We hadn't had a nice date night like that in a while.
Yesterday was a good day, got lots of chores done and then loafed comfortably later on in the day.

Sep. 5th, 2007 11:47 pmWOW, mixed zoning and sidewalks, what a concept! :P
As a lifelong urban dweller, this really amuses me. I am also very pleased :). This is moving in the right direction as far as I'm concerned.

Jul. 10th, 2007 07:18 pmHuzzah! We have a new dining set!!!
I was so heartily sick of the bootleg setup we've had for the past year.

EDIT: This is a picture of the set we got, but this picture is swiped from the Gothic Cabinet Furniture website. Our place looks nothing like this! I'll post an actual picture of our set in our dining room later on. Ganking from the site was much easier :).
