Howard Stern is on the radio at the moment. I'm listening to a commercial Howard recorded for the "Jenna Jameson Hot Trimmer", an item I ran across at Virgin Megastore at Times Square last weekend. He is suggesting this would make a great gift for x-mas. ........ I can't help but think that the average wife/girlfriend would toss this item at the head of whatever husband/boyfriend bonehead enough to gift this item for the holidays. Could be wrong, but I highly doubt it.

Anyway, last week my dad received the results of the biopsy from the suspicious area of skin removed from his cheek the week before. Squamous cell carcinoma. So, not what we were hoping to hear, but everything indicates that it was caught early, he's been given various medications to apply to his face, and has to go back to the doctor in 3 weeks to check up on things. He'll have to go for examinations a few times a year to keep tabs on any other possible carcinoma developments. The only good thing I can think of (other than of course, that he's ok) is that this will force him to take better care of his skin, something I've been nagging him to do for years.

My sister S. is not doing much better with her neck problems. Dics 4,5,6&7 in her neck are all bulging and she's in constant pain. She was given Percodan and Percoset but they both made her sick to her stomach. She and her husband came to the conclusion that the chiropracter she went to a few times was a quack more interested in her insurace policy that actually helping her. She's not having any luck finding an orthopedic doctor within a 15 mile radius of where they live. The ones she's contacted so far either don't deal with the neck, or won't take her because someone else has already been manipulating the area. Peachy. So somehow she has to continue taking care of her family and working as a teacher's assistant in a kindergarten class while in pain with an effed up neck. And she's maxed out her sick days. So yes, angioplasty (my mom, earlier in the month), carcinoma and bulging discs. As always, never a dull moment for the Gonzalez Clan.
