TODAY, the Senate will vote on the Economic Recovery (Stimulus) Package. Although the House version of this bill contained important protections against the funding of buildings used for sectarian, religious worship, all of that is now being threatened. Senator DeMint (R-SC) will propose an amendment on the Senate floor to STRIKE this important constitutional provision. We cannot allow this! Senator DeMint's amendment is unconstitutional and would allow taxpayer money to fund construction for chapels and houses of worship.
