OMIGOD, a woman in TX cut off her baby's arms?!?!?!  What in the hell!?!  I swear I'm almost trembling from the horror I feel.  Hearing shit like this makes me want to hide under the bedcovers.

Same reason I did. We are, how you say, not so bright.

This is worthy of hiding under the bedcovers, no? It hurts to think we live in a world where something like this happens. Boggles the mind, heart and spirit.

See, this is what we need scientists researching.

Texas Child Protective Services had recently closed a seven-month investigation, concluding that Schlosser did not pose a risk to her children.

And this is why government employees seem overpaid to most taxpayers...

Well, it's possible she did not exhibit any overtly alarming behaviour over the course of the investigation. And yes, there are people who work in child services that suck at their job. There are instances of gross negligence on the part of the caseworkers. But it seems to me that it's a field that is usually woefully understaffed and so chances are increased for a person trying their best to do a less than perfect job.

I used to work for the government and spent months working an average of 10-15 hours a week in unpaid overtime in attempts to keep up with the insane caseload and lunatic clients, and was paid peanuts to boot. I don't know about other government employees, but I sure as hell wasn't being overpaid, and neither was anyone I worked with.

EWWW! See... this is my punishment for looking at my friends' friends' LJs. Apparently, the universe thinks I have all the friends I need already. Mental note: trying to expand your social circle = BAD IDEA!!!!

Oh, I friended you anyway... ;)

Greetings :)
