Today has been an utterly shitty day, I can't even get into it here. Trust me, SHITTTTY. But I'm feeling better, so I guess that's good. Am flagrantly accepting any and all good thoughts and energy that a potentially crappy situation will be avoided. Thanks.
But, yesterday was a nice Valentine's Day :).
fings got off of work early and I met him in Hoboken. We had a nice dinner at Maxwell's and and sort of sat there a little goofily, marveling over the fact that we've been married for almost 2 years! Our anniversary is a little under 4 months away, still, it seems to be going fast! We walked home, picked up some groceries along the way. When we got home we couldn't really agree on something to watch, but that was ok, he worked on some computer stuff and I crawled into the recliner with many blankets and a book ("The Other Boleyn Girl", it's really good!). After a while I got sleepy and sort of conked out. Fings almost gave me a heart attack when he woke me, even though he tried to be gentle. I was really sleeping! It was just a really nice and companionable low-key evening.
Oh, and I picked up some new books at B&N before I met with Fings, I had a $40 gift card from Christmas. They had a buy 2, get 1 free table and I picked up a biography on Jimmy Stewart, "The Female Brain", and "The Life of Language". It was $34 and some change---I am so brutally spoiled by paperbackswap.com where I am getting so many fabulous books for the price of media mail postage, or worst case paying $3.50 for a credit. SPOILED because I felt scandalized by the price even though it was a pretty decent deal considering the prices of new trade paperbacks at B&N (I should have paid closer to $50 for those 3 books). Oh, paperbackswap, how I LOVE you.
