You know, if a person really meant this "NOTE: I deleted those who didn't respond to my requests to confirm active LJ friend status. To be included again you must submit an emailed request." when they typed it on their LJ user page, then don't you think they would have included some kind of email address as well? LJ is weird, I shouldn't feel a little put off that I've been defriended by someone whose journal I actually read because I was very behind on reading my LJ and so did not get to see the post about requesting active LJ friend status, but I guess I do. I would have responded in the positive if only I hadn't been up to things like getting married, being on my honeymoon and moving into a new home with my new husband last month. I guess I should have been reading my LJ every day when I was on my honeymoon!? Feh.

Eh, I've pretty much given up on the "respond to me or I'll defriend you" posts. Nowadays, I'm usually tempted to actively ignore those posts and let people do what they will (and this is despite the fact that I almost always read LJ at least once a day or so).

Then again since I segregate out my communities from my degault view (I only read communities when I really have nothing better to do, I try to always make time for actual people) it's not hard for me to keep up with my friends list.

Yeah, I guess that's what bothers me, the whole "respond to me or I'll drop you" bit. Want to defriend me, go right ahead! But don't base it on something I did or didn't do, base it on whether or not you're interested in my crappy blog. If not, that's ok. Also, I might not make 786457 comments in journals on a weekly basis, but I do keep up with the people on my list (hey, there are interesting people on there, haha) even if sometimes I get a little behind due to things going on in my life.
