Considering I suffer from flat feet that are often ouchy...that I swore off high heels forever after going to a wedding this past Saturday, this is of interest to me: You Walk Wrong. Goodness knows I'm barefoot all of the time when I am home.

Oy - do I hear you. My poor feeties were so unhappy with me at the wedding on Sunday.

Barefoot really is best - I just wish the floors were warmer... this house has a crawl space & the floors are cool even in the summer.

Well, I think just a pair of socks for warmth is better than shoes at home. When it gets chilly, I do throw on some slipper socks :).

Down on high heels!

I have MBTs. I got them after I started working retail and I came home with my feet just aaaching. They're hideously expensive, but I think they were worth it--much less hurty. Just don't climb ladders in them and be careful on stairs/escalators, because the rolly soles can make it tricky to balance.

Sounds worth looking into :).

So it's good that I let the kids run around barefoot all the time? Coolness!

Yep! I read a while back that the best way to prevent flat feet in people is to let them run barefoot as much as possible as children. My mother is a *freak* about not letting kids be barefoot cause "they need to get used to wearing shoes". So, chances are my feet are flat and suck and hurt a lot when I've been walking a lot because of her being fanatical about shoes. Sigh.

So let the girls run FREE! As weather and environment permit ^_^.

I gave up on the heels years ago. Recommend the Castro style of shoe from Globe for everyday wear. I own them in black pinstripe, black and red, white, grey, and brown. They come in both men's and women's but so far all my choices have been men's size 6's because they have better colors.

Other feet friendly brands include Rocket Dog, BC Footwear, and SoftSpots - said the girl with the neuroma in her foot.

This is one of the things I miss about my old slippers. They had soft leather bottoms, which let me feel the ground or floor. The new ones, while nice, have hard soles.
